Renowned kabaddi player and famous stopper Pala Jalalpuriya joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today, giving the party a boost with his entry from the sports world.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann formally inducted Jalalpuriya into the party and welcomed him.Pala Jalalpuriya is widely known in kabaddi circles for his exceptional technique and “close fighter” style of play, and has represented Punjab at the international level.
Welcoming him, Mann said it was a matter of pride that an international-level athlete like Jalalpuriya had joined AAP. He added that the player had brought glory to Punjab through sports and would now work alongside the party in public service.
The Chief Minister also said the Punjab government remains committed to honouring players and encouraging youth participation in sports, adding that Jalalpuriya’s induction would inspire young athletes across the state.
