Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal and former Union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal paid emotional tributes to former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on his third death anniversary on Saturday.
The veteran Akali leader passed away on April 25, 2023, at the age of 95 after a prolonged illness in Mohali
Family members and several SAD leaders remembered his legacy and pro-people initiatives through social media posts.
Sources said no large religious ceremony was organised this year as members of the Badal family were reportedly abroad. In previous years, the family had marked his death anniversary with religious gatherings at his memorial site.
Last year, the National Skill Development Corporation had announced a proposed “Sardar Parkash Singh Badal Skill India Centre” in his native village Badal as a tribute to his contribution, though the project is yet to be established.
