Murder Case Solved Two Accused Arrested, Weapon Recovered

The Balongi Police have solved a murder case that took place in Adarsh Nagar, Balongi, and arrested two accused, including the main suspect. The weapon allegedly used in the crime has also been recovered.
The operation was carried out under the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) SAS Nagar Harmandeep Singh Hans and SP (Rural) Manpreet Singh, under the supervision of DSP Kharar-I Ishaan Singla and SHO Balongi Inspector Periwinkle Grewal.
According to the police, on the night of May 27, Deepak Kumar, along with his brother Abhishek Kumar and friends Prashat and Jyotis, went to the residence of Munish Kumar to question him over an earlier incident involving an alleged verbal altercation with Prashat’s father. During the discussion, an argument broke out, following which Munish Kumar allegedly attacked Abhishek Kumar with a knife-like weapon, inflicting a fatal injury to his neck. He also allegedly assaulted Prashat and Jyotis before fleeing the scene.
The injured were rushed to Civil Hospital, Phase-6, Mohali, where doctors declared Abhishek Kumar dead. A murder case was subsequently registered at Balongi Police Station under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
During the investigation, police teams analyzed CCTV footage, technical evidence, and intelligence inputs. Based on these leads, the main accused, Munish Kumar (25), and his father, Munna Yadav (40), were arrested.
The accused were produced before a court, which granted a three-day police remand. During interrogation, police recovered the knife allegedly used in the crime from the possession of the main accused.
