Mohali:
Reaffirming its commitment to youth empowerment and social development, the Great Navbharat Mission Foundation of CGC University, Mohali, successfully organised a three-day “Udaan Skill and Innovation Camp” to equip rural youth with practical skills, technical knowledge and an innovative mindset.
Held under the theme “New Thinking, New Flight,” the camp saw enthusiastic participation from around 30–40 students and volunteers from the villages of Machhli Kalan, Basian and Jhajheri. The initiative focused on promoting self-confidence, self-reliance and holistic personality development through experiential learning.
Participants attended a series of hands-on workshops, including basic computer training, MS Word, mechanical and carpentry skills, and automobile awareness. The sessions were designed to bridge the gap between classroom education and practical application while improving digital literacy and technical competence.
The camp also featured self-defence training and daily yoga sessions to enhance physical fitness, mental well-being and self-confidence. Various group activities encouraged teamwork, leadership qualities and creative thinking among the participants.
Speaking on the occasion, CGC University Chancellor S. Rachhpal Singh Dhaliwal, recipient of the Father of Education Award, said initiatives like “Udaan” reflect the university’s commitment to social responsibility and inclusive development. He said the university would continue organising such programmes to empower youth with skills, values and confidence, enabling them to become responsible citizens and contributors to nation-building.
The three-day camp concluded on a positive note, with participants expressing gratitude to the university for providing them with valuable learning opportunities and practical exposure.
