As part of the “Har Shukravar Dengue Te Vaar” campaign, the District Health Department today carried out a dengue prevention drive at police stations and religious places across Mohali, urging people to ensure that no water is allowed to stagnate.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain visited the Phase-6 Police Post to inspect areas where water could accumulate. She was accompanied by SMO Dr. Parminderjit Singh and District Epidemiologist Dr. Anamika Soni. The team conducted a detailed inspection of the premises and issued necessary guidelines to prevent the breeding of dengue-causing mosquitoes.
Dr. Jain said maintaining cleanliness and preventing water stagnation are the most effective measures to control dengue. She urged police personnel to regularly inspect their surroundings for mosquito larvae and maintain proper sanitation.
As part of the drive, anti-larval insecticide was sprayed around parked vehicles and other vulnerable areas within the police post premises. Similar inspection and awareness campaigns were also conducted at various locations across the district under the supervision of senior medical officers to strengthen dengue prevention efforts.
