The vibrant colors of Teej and the rich traditions of Punjab came alive at the Royal Teej Mela, which was organized with great enthusiasm and festive spirit in Mohali. The event provided a platform for women to showcase their talent while celebrating Punjab’s cultural heritage and traditional values.
A large number of women participated in the mela and took part in various cultural performances and entertainment competitions. Distinguished guests including Mrs. Balbir Sidhu, Mrs. Jatinder Sidhu, actress Satwant Kaur, Daljit Kaur, Parminder Kaur, and director Khushboo Sharma graced the occasion.
Renowned Punjabi folk singer Sukhwinder Kaur (Sukhi Brar) also attended the event and encouraged women to preserve and promote Punjabi culture, heritage, and traditions. She said cultural events like these help connect the younger generation with their roots and ensure that Punjab’s rich legacy continues to thrive.
The event featured a variety of attractions, including Giddha, Bhangra, traditional Punjabi attire displays, a fashion show, and heritage-based quiz competitions. Participants enthusiastically showcased their knowledge of Punjabi history, customs, and cultural traditions.

Organizers Mrs. Parvi and Mrs. Manseerat Kaur said the objective of the Royal Teej Mela was to celebrate the traditional festival of Teej while promoting Punjabi culture and heritage among the younger generation. They emphasized the need to preserve cultural values and folk traditions in today’s modern era.
