Jonjua Overseas Limited has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with entrepreneur Anjali Sharma, Rampur BSR, Himachal Pradesh, to facilitate the development of a private rooftop helipad near the National Highway at Rampur BSR.The proposed project aims to improve connectivity and accessibility in the remote Himalayan region and support tourism, emergency services and local economic activities.The rooftop helipad is planned as part of a seven-storey hotel project being developed by Anjali Sharma in Rampur BSR. The proposed facility will be subject to all required statutory, aviation, safety, environmental and local authority approvals and clearances.Jonjua Overseas has constituted a two-member team for the project comprising Major Harjinder Singh Jonjua (Retd.), Chairman-cum-Managing Director, and Harmanpreet Singh Jonjua, Director.Major Harjinder Singh Jonjua, a military engineer with around 48 years of experience, has worked on the design and development of helipads and STOLports in remote and border areas during his service in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Assam, Mizoram and Tripura, as well as overseas operations.Major Jonjua has also authored books on aviation and military engineering related to remote and border areas. He has filed a patent for a STOLport design with Harmanpreet Singh Jonjua, featuring a proposed length of 750 metres as per sourcesJonjua Overseas Limited also highlighted its involvement in aviation start-up initiatives, including GNS Airways SA of Cameroon and Jonjua Air Limited, a proposed air taxi venture promoted by the Jonjua Group.Company sources said the proposed rooftop helipad is intended to contribute to improved regional connectivity while providing potential benefits for tourism, emergency response and economic activities in the Himalayan region.
