A special programme was organised at Shastri Model School, Phase 1, Mohali, today to mark Independence Day. BJP leader and Amay Foundation Chairperson Abha Bansal attended the event as the chief guest.
During the programme, students enthusiastically unfurled the Tricolour and expressed patriotic sentiments. Addressing the students, Bansal said the Tricolour is a symbol of the nation’s honour, pride and glory.
She also apprised the students about the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign and encouraged them to hoist the national flag at their homes and motivate family members and people around them to participate in the campaign.
Bansal said Independence Day provides an opportunity to remember the sacrifices of freedom fighters and martyrs who laid down their lives for the country’s freedom.
On the occasion, School Principal R. Bala honoured Abha Bansal for her participation in the programme. School staff and students also took a pledge to strengthen the spirit of national unity, integrity and patriotism.
