Chandigarh:
The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at the CISF Unit P&HCS, Chandigarh. Shri Munish Nagpal, IAS, Special Secretary, Establishment, Haryana Government, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Shri Lalit Panwar, Commandant, CISF Unit P&HCS, Chandigarh, presided over the function.
The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem. A ceremonial parade by CISF personnel was also presented to mark the occasion. Unit personnel and other guests participated enthusiastically in the celebrations.
Patriotic songs and cultural performances by CISF personnel added to the spirit of the day. A special demonstration showcasing acts of courage and various tactical moves by the personnel was also presented.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Shri Munish Nagpal paid tribute to the freedom fighters and highlighted the importance of national unity, integrity and dedicated service to the nation. He appreciated the vital role of the CISF in ensuring national security and maintaining discipline.
On the occasion, Shri Munish Nagpal also inaugurated the newly installed open gym at the Unit Line, aimed at promoting the health and well-being of CISF personnel.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Nitin Kumar, Deputy Commandant, CISF Unit P&HCS Chandigarh. The celebrations ended on a note of unity, patriotism and national pride.
