The three-day District Junior Badminton Championship, organised by the Mohali District Badminton Association, concluded at Varun Sharma Academy in Sector 115. The championship was conducted under the supervision of Association President Harikirat Singh and Advisor A.K. Kaushal
Matches were held in different age categories, including Under-11, Under-13, Under-15 and Under-17, with young players displaying strong skills and competitive spirit.
BJP leader and Amey Foundation Chairperson Aabha Bansal attended the concluding ceremony as the chief guest and felicitated the winners. Addressing the players, she encouraged them to stay away from drugs and focus on sports to build a successful future. She said sports help develop discipline, confidence and a positive approach among youngsters.
Association Secretary Parminder Sharma said Rudhransh Sharma won the Under-11 boys singles title after defeating Ekamveer Singh 15-8, 15-2, while Eveleen won the girls singles title against Gurbani.
In Under-13, Viraj won the boys singles title and Anahita Rana claimed the girls singles title. Krishika Gosain and Myra Passi won the girls doubles event.
In Under-15, Manan Rana won the boys singles title and Aunika Duggal emerged champion in girls singles. Sakshum and Siddharth won boys doubles, Jasneet and Omisha won girls doubles, while Sakshum and Rianshi won mixed doubles.
In Under-17, Manan Rana won boys singles and Aunika Duggal won girls singles. Mankirat Singh and Sujal Singla emerged winners in boys doubles.
