Health Department Launches Dengue Checking Drive

Mohali :

To prevent the spread of dengue, the Health Department launched a special checking campaign across high-risk areas of the district. The campaign was led by Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain, with health teams inspecting houses, shops and other potential mosquito-breeding sites.
During the drive, teams checked coolers, flower pots, water tanks, old tyres, junk and other places where stagnant water could accumulate. Wherever dengue larvae were found, they were immediately destroyed, while residents were also advised on preventive measures.
District Epidemiologist Dr. Anamika Soni inspected several locations and directed health workers to intensify anti-dengue activities. She said the dengue mosquito breeds in clean stagnant water and urged people to ensure that water does not remain accumulated in or around their homes.
The Health Department also informed residents that dengue testing and treatment are available free of cost at government health institutions. People can contact the 104 medical helpline for further information and assistance.
