571 Patients Receive Free Medical Check-ups; Breast Cancer Screening Draws Large Participation Among Women
Mohali: Bringing healthcare closer to the underprivileged and spreading awareness about preventive healthcare, Amay Foundation organised a free Mega Health and Cancer Check-up Camp in Sector 70, Mohali, on Sunday. The camp was organised under the leadership of Abha Bansal, Founder of Amay Foundation and BJP leader, and witnessed an overwhelming response from residents and people from neighbouring areas.
A dedicated team of doctors and medical professionals from Sohana Hospital provided comprehensive health check-ups and medical consultations to 571 patients, many of whom availed themselves of the facility free of cost.
A major highlight of the camp was the breast cancer screening programme, in which a large number of women participated. Doctors also counselled the participants on the importance of regular screening, early detection and timely medical intervention.
As part of its commitment to supporting people in need, 10 wheelchairs were distributed among needy beneficiaries. Various other medical equipment and assistive devices were also provided to individuals requiring support, bringing much-needed relief to several families.
Addressing the gathering, Abha Bansal emphasised that regular health check-ups play a crucial role in detecting serious illnesses at an early stage. She said that awareness, timely screening and proper medical consultation can significantly improve the chances of prevention and effective treatment, particularly in cases of cancer.
She reiterated Amay Foundation’s commitment to organising such initiatives for the benefit of economically weaker sections and ensuring that access to basic healthcare does not remain a privilege for a few.
The camp was attended by several prominent political and social figures, including BJP District President Sanjiv Vashisht, BJP Punjab Cashier Sukhwinder Singh Goldy, State Media In-charge Vineet Joshi, Vice President Ranjeet Gill, Councillors Gaurav Jain and Hardev Ubha, Atul Sharma, Ekta Nagpal, Sanjiv Khanna, Kuldeep Bittu and Manoj Aggarwal.
Representatives of various political parties, social organisations, Resident Welfare Associations and community groups from different villages and sectors also participated in the camp.
The overwhelming response to the initiative highlighted the growing need for accessible, preventive and affordable healthcare services, while the efforts of Amay Foundation were widely appreciated by beneficiaries and members of the community.
