Chandigarh :
Rakesh Trehan, popularly known as ‘Raja D King’, has announced that his much-publicised ‘iPhone Langar’ giveaway will be held in Chandigarh on September 22.
Trehan said the event will take place between 12 noon and 2 pm, with iPhones to be distributed as ‘prasad’ to selected recipients. He said the event would be open to residents of Chandigarh and Mohali and that there would be no bias or special preference in the distribution.
Speaking to, Trehan said the date of September 22 was revealed to him through what he described as spiritual guidance from ‘Jai Mata Di’. He said media representatives would also be welcome to livestream the event.
Trehan described the Chandigarh event as the beginning of a series of similar giveaways. He said 10 more cities in Punjab would be announced on September 22, followed by further cities and dates in the coming weeks.
He said the giveaway would initially feature iPhone 17 models, which he described as costing around Rs 1 lakh. Trehan said the decision to distribute only iPhone 17 models was taken after considering how recipients might compare different models.
The announcement has generated considerable curiosity online, with Trehan saying the response to the iPhone giveaway had been unlike previous announcements.
