In an aggressive push to tackle the deep-seated menace of substance abuse in the region, prominent leader MC Parmjit Singh Kahlon today undertook a high-level inspection visit to the Drug De-Addiction Centre in Sector 67, Mohali.
The visit featured an intensive, closed-door brainstorming session with the resident team of doctors, medical officers, and healthcare staff on duty to evaluate institutional frameworks and map out a comprehensive blueprint to completely eradicate drugs from Mohali and Punjab.
MC Paramjit Singh Kahlon rigorously reviewed infrastructure capacities, patient treatment regimens, psychiatric counseling standards, and overall rehabilitation metrics at the Sector 67 facility.
During the visit, Kahlon and his team engaged directly with the medical fraternity to understand ground-level bottlenecks, including resource gaps, patient retention challenges, and the complexities of social rehabilitation for recovering youth.
Asserting that punitive measures alone are insufficient, Kahlon emphasized a powerful synthesis of clinical care, aggressive supply-chain crackdowns, and massive grassroots outreach.
He made a appeal to Youth clubs, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), and non-governmental organizations to bridge the societal gap, strip away the stigma of addiction, and champion community-led vigilance.

During the briefing, the on-duty medical officers updated Kahlon on patient occupancy rates, pharmaceutical supplies, and inspirational success stories of individuals who successfully reclaimed their lives through the centre’s programs.
Concluding his visit, Kahlon pledged robust social advocacy support to upgrade facility infrastructure, expand public awareness campaigns, and ensure that every individual struggling with addiction receives timely, dignified care for a better tomorrow.
