Mohali :
AAP leaders and workers staged a protest outside the GMADA headquarters in Phase 8, Mohali, on Thursday against the ongoing Enforcement Directorate (ED) search operation.
Led by senior party leaders, MLAs, protesters raised slogans alleging political misuse of central investigative agencies and demanded that the ED action be stopped.
Tensions briefly rose when some protesters attempted to move towards the GMADA premises and encountered security barricades. The situation was subsequently brought under control.
The ED search is linked to an ongoing investigation into alleged financial irregularities involving land transactions, change-of-land-use matters and compensation-related dealings. The Punjab government has also approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court regarding the operation.
The allegations under investigation remain unproven, and the ED proceedings are continuing.
