Mohali :
Mayor Sarabjit Singh Samana today led a special cleanliness drive at the Phase 7 market, picking up a broom and joining sanitation workers to clean the area. Senior Deputy Mayor RP Sharma and Deputy Mayor Harpal Singh Channa also participated in the campaign.
During the drive, Mayor Samana inspected the market surroundings and interacted with shopkeepers and residents. He appealed to people to keep their surroundings clean and dispose of waste only at designated places.
Samana said keeping the city clean was not only the responsibility of the Municipal Corporation and sanitation workers but also of every resident. He said similar cleanliness drives would be organised in other markets and areas to make Mohali a cleaner and model city.
Municipal Corporation officials, sanitation workers and market association representatives were also present and pledged to contribute towards keeping the city clean.
