The second day of the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha being organised at Shri Sanatan Dharam Mandir, Phase 4, Mohali, on the occasion of Shradh Paksha, witnessed a deeply devotional atmosphere. A large number of devotees gathered at the temple, with the entire katha hall remaining packed throughout the programme.
Renowned spiritual preacher Swami Dhanvantri Das Ji from Vrindavan captivated devotees with his melodious narration of various episodes from the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapurana. On the second day, he delivered an emotional discourse on the story of Gokarna and Dhundhkari, highlighting the importance of good values, satsang, religion and devotion in human life. He explained that devotion to God and good deeds guide individuals towards the righteous path.
The discourse also highlighted the glory of Shrimad Bhagwat and the significance of surrendering oneself to the Almighty. Various episodes related to Lord Krishna’s devotion, good conduct and the eternal bond between devotees and the Lord were also narrated. Bhajans, kirtans and devotional chants created a spiritual atmosphere throughout the temple premises.
Abha Bansal Attends Religious Programme
BJP Mahila Morcha Punjab Vice President Abha Bansal attended the religious programme as a special guest. She paid obeisance before the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapurana and sought blessings. The temple committee welcomed and honoured her on the occasion.
Temple Committee Oversees Arrangements
The entire programme is being organised under the supervision of Shri Sanatan Dharam Mandir Committee President Des Raj Gupta and his team. Committee members are actively managing arrangements for the katha, devotees, Maha Aarti, bhandara and other religious activities.
Co-Vice President Raj Kumar Kalia, Vice President Satish Kumar, General Secretary Raj Kumar Sharma, Cashier Rakesh Kumar Gupta, Anshul Bansal, Sanjeev Sharma alias Bobby and other members of the temple management team are contributing towards the successful organisation of the event.
At the conclusion of the katha, Maha Aarti was performed, with a large number of devotees participating. An uninterrupted community bhandara was organised thereafter.
Mahila Mandal Plays Active Role
The Mahila Mandal of Shri Sanatan Dharam Mandir also participated actively in the programme under the leadership of its President, Dinesh Chandan. Indra Rani, Pushpa Sharma, Rajkumari, Shashi, Neelam, Archana and other members contributed to bhajans, kirtans and various religious activities.
Katha to Continue Till October 3
The temple committee informed that the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha is being organised daily from September 27 to October 3, 2026, between 3:30 PM and 7:30 PM. An uninterrupted bhandara will be served to devotees after the katha, while daily puja will be held from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
The committee appealed to residents and devotees to participate in the religious programme in large numbers and seek the blessings of Lord Krishna. The second day’s katha, Maha Aarti and community bhandara filled the atmosphere of Phase 4 with devotion and spirituality.
