Mohali:
Municipal Councillor Ward No. 27, Parwinder Kaur, has urged the Municipal Corporation Mohali Commissioner to take immediate steps for the upkeep and maintenance of City Park-68, which, according to her representation, has been facing neglect for nearly one and a half months.
In a written representation submitted to the Municipal Corporation, Kaur stated that the tender for the park’s cleaning and maintenance work expired around one and a half months ago. Since then, regular maintenance has reportedly been affected, leaving the park in an increasingly poor condition and causing inconvenience to residents.
Kaur highlighted that City Park-68 is a large public park regularly used by residents of nearby sectors for morning and evening walks, exercise and other outdoor activities. She said the present situation is making it difficult for residents to use the facility comfortably and could also have implications for public hygiene.
She requested the Municipal Corporation to make immediate arrangements for the park’s upkeep and restore it to a proper, usable condition. She also called for a regular maintenance mechanism to ensure that such a situation does not arise again.
Kaur appealed to the civic authorities to treat the matter on priority and take necessary action in the interest of residents.
