New Delhi:
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has issued transfer and posting guidelines for officers involved in election duties ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections in Punjab, Goa, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Under the instructions, election-related officers cannot continue in their home districts or in areas where they have served for an extended period. The move aims to ensure impartiality and promote free and fair elections.
The current term of the Punjab Legislative Assembly is scheduled to end on March 16, 2027.
