The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) received a boost in Balongi ahead of the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections as Rita Sharma joined the party along with a large number of her supporters and team members. Sanjeev Vashisht, BJP District President of Mohali, was specially present on the occasion.
After joining the BJP, Rita Sharma and her supporters said they were impressed by the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the development-oriented policies of the Central Government. Expressing confidence in the BJP’s ideology, they pledged to work with dedication and commitment to strengthen the party in Mohali and the Balongi area.
Rita Sharma and her team also assured their full support to Sanjeev Vashisht, expressing their commitment to working towards his victory as the BJP MLA from Mohali in the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections.
The development is being viewed as an important step towards expanding the BJP’s organisational presence and strengthening its grassroots network in Balongi. With the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections approaching, the joining of new members is expected to provide fresh momentum to the party’s efforts to expand its support base in the region.
