Chandigarh, November 9, 2024– Haryana Transport Minister Anil Vij said that to boost the public transport system further, the State Government would soon add 650 new buses to the Haryana Roadways (HR) fleet.
The Minister said that the new buses will be procured for the convenience of passengers, including 150 AC buses and 500 non-AC buses.
Anil Vij said that approval for this purchase will be sought in the upcoming High-Power Purchase Committee meeting.
He said that the new buses will meet environmental standards to help curb pollution. These buses will be equipped with BS-6 standard engines.
He added that since assuming the charge of Transport Minister, he has directed all officers concerned to ensure that all bus terminals in the state are well-maintained so that passengers face no inconvenience.
The government is especially focused on ensuring that passengers receive all basic amenities and have adequate seating arrangements at bus terminals, said Sh. Anil Vij.
He said that the government is transforming bus terminals for the convenience of passengers, and this will yield positive results in the future.
