Police Bust Major Fake Dairy Products Racket, Adulterated Food Seized

Mohali :

Punjab police have uncovered a major racket involving adulterated dairy products in the Bhabat area of Zirakpur following a tip-off. Authorities raided a wholesaler’s shop suspected of producing and supplying fake paneer and desi ghee and immediately called the Health Department to assist in the investigation.
Massive Seizure of Adulterated Items
During the raid, officials recovered a significant quantity of suspected adulterated food items, including approximately 4 quintals of paneer, 4 quintals of desi ghee, and nearly 6 quintals of milk. Preliminary checks indicated that these products could be harmful to public health.
Samples Collected for Laboratory Testing
The Food Supply Officer inspected the stock in detail, while the Health Department collected and sealed samples of the paneer, ghee, and milk. These have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for scientific analysis to determine the exact nature of the adulteration.
Investigation Underway, Shop Owner Questioned
The shop owner was questioned during the raid, but no arrests have been made yet. Police and Health Department teams are tracing the supply chain to identify areas where adulterated products may have been distributed.
Strict Action Promised
Zirakpur ASP Gajal Preet Kaur stated that strict legal action will be taken once the FSL report is received. She emphasized that the administration will not tolerate actions that endanger public health and assured that the crackdown against adulterated food will continue.
