MLA Kulwant Singh Inaugurates Swaara-Saidpur-Chandiala Road Upgrade

Mohali :

In a long-awaited development for local residents, Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh today inaugurated the widening and renovation of the Swaara-Saidpur-Giddarpur-Chandiala road, fulfilling a demand that had been pending for years.
Addressing the gathering, Kulwant Singh said that the Bhagwant Mann government is committed to the overall development of the state and strengthening its infrastructure. The road, spanning a total length of 5.09 kilometres, will now be widened from 10 feet to 18 feet to ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity in the region.
The MLA shared technical details of the project, stating that the total cost of the renovation will be approximately ₹2.92 crore, with ₹2.75 crore allocated for road construction and ₹17 lakh earmarked for five years of maintenance. The road, originally constructed in 2017, had been awaiting repairs for a long time. Around 1 kilometre of the road will be paved with blocks, while the remaining 4 kilometres will be constructed with asphalt. The project is expected to be completed within the next six months, providing significant relief to commuters.
Kulwant Singh added that under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s leadership, the government has been working on inclusive development across Punjab for over three years, ensuring that essential infrastructure and long-standing civic issues are being addressed. He also noted that opposition leaders now have little to criticize as more citizens and local leaders continue to support the Aam Aadmi Party’s initiatives.
The inauguration was attended by local leaders, including Sarpanch Gurpreet Kaur, former Sarpanch Surjit Singh, Amandeep Kaur (wife of Parminder Singh), former Sarpanch Gurmel Singh, Kuldeep Kaur (in-charge of the Women’s Wing), and Executive Engineer Vivek Dureja from the PWD department. Residents and Panchayat members expressed their gratitude to MLA Kulwant Singh, noting that the widened road will boost development in the area and reduce the risk of accidents.
