Mohali : Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Rajinder Gupta Today welcomed the judgment of the Rouse Avenue Court acquitting Arvind Kejriwal and senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia in the excise policy case investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
In a formal statement, Gupta described the verdict as “a reaffirmation of faith in the rule of law and the strength of India’s judicial institutions.” He said the court’s decision has brought clarity to a matter that had remained in public discourse for over two years and attracted widespread political debate. “The judgment underscores the foundational principle that justice must prevail through due process and evidence,” Gupta stated. “This outcome will restore confidence among citizens and party supporters who have steadfastly believed in the integrity of the leadership and the impartiality of the judiciary.” The case had drawn nationwide attention and marked a significant phase in recent political and legal developments. With the court’s ruling, a major chapter in the proceedings initiated by the CBI has reached its conclusion.
Gupta expressed hope that the verdict would now enable a renewed focus on governance, public service and developmental priorities. He emphasized that democratic institutions function best when due process is respected and judicial pronouncements are upheld in both letter and spirit.
Reiterating his commitment to transparency, accountability and constitutional values, the Rajya Sabha MP called upon all stakeholders to respect the court’s decision and contribute positively to strengthening democratic processes in the country.
