Ludhiana : An attempted robbery was foiled late Friday night in the Ganesh Nagar area of Ludhiana after a shop owner bravely confronted two armed miscreants who had entered his shop with the intention of robbing him.
According to reports, the incident took place around 9:15 pm at a money transfer shop owned by Tiwari. At the time, a customer was present inside the shop when two bike-borne men allegedly entered from behind.
The suspects reportedly tried to threaten the shop owner using a firearm and sharp-edged weapons in an attempt to carry out the robbery.
However, the situation took a dramatic turn when the shop owner reacted quickly. Tiwari said he pulled out a sword kept inside the shop and confronted the attackers.
Seeing the owner ready to defend himself, the two miscreants panicked and immediately fled the spot without carrying out the robbery.
Soon after the incident, local residents gathered at the location, while police officials were informed about the attempted crime.
Officials from Police Division 2 and the Janakpuri police post in-charge, Dharminder Singh, reached the spot and began preliminary investigations.
Police said CCTV footage from cameras installed in the area is being examined.
Authorities confirmed that images of the suspects have been captured on camera and efforts are underway to identify and arrest them.
