Amritsar : The post-mortem examination of Gagandeep Singh Randhawa, who allegedly died by suicide after accusing former Punjab minister Laljit Singh Bhullar of harassment, will be conducted on Tuesday, police officials said.
According to authorities, the autopsy will take place at the government medical college in Amritsar. A board of doctors has been constituted to carry out the examination to ensure transparency and accuracy in determining the cause of death. The process will be videographed and conducted under the supervision of an executive magistrate.
Police officials further stated that Randhawa’s family has consented to the post-mortem examination. Following the completion of legal formalities, the last rites of the deceased are expected to be performed later in the day.
The case has drawn significant attention across Punjab, as Randhawa had reportedly levelled serious allegations of harassment against Bhullar prior to his death. The development comes a day after Bhullar was taken into custody from Mandi Gobindgarh in connection with the case, intensifying the political and legal ramifications.
Investigators are continuing their probe to ascertain the circumstances that led to the alleged suicide. The findings of the post-mortem report are expected to play a crucial role in the ongoing investigation and any subsequent legal proceedings.
