DC Komal Mittal Reviews Traders’ Issues, Orders Time-Bound Resolution

Mohali : Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal conducted a comprehensive review of issues raised by traders during recent meetings of the District Traders’ Commission and directed all concerned departments to ensure their prompt and time-bound resolution. She also instructed officials to update the status of each case on the designated online portal without delay.

The meeting was attended by District Traders’ Commission Chairman Ranjit Pal Singh, Vice Chairman Tarlochan Singh Baidwan, Mohali Constituency Chairman Akvinder Singh Gosal, and Kharar Constituency Chairman Yashpal Bansal, along with senior officers from various departments.

Addressing the officials, the Deputy Commissioner noted that the stipulated 30-day deadline for resolving non-policy matters has already passed and emphasized that progress must now be reflected on the online portal immediately. She highlighted that most grievances raised by traders relate to basic civic amenities such as installation and maintenance of streetlights, removal of encroachments, marking of parking spaces in markets, repair of sewage leakages, and reduction of traffic congestion.

Mittal stressed that these are local-level issues and can be resolved swiftly through better coordination among departments. Referring to markets in Phase 3B2, Phase 3B1, Phase 7, and Phases 4 and 5, she directed authorities to act without delay.

Reiterating the Punjab government’s commitment under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, she said that addressing traders’ concerns and ensuring ease of doing business remains a top priority.

Chairman Ranjit Pal Singh informed that the online portal has been upgraded and urged departments to regularly update complaint statuses. DSP (Traffic) Karnail Singh assured timely resolution of traffic-related issues, while Joint Commissioner Jasjit Singh said action has already begun on several concerns.

Senior officials, including SDM Mohali Damandeep Kaur, were also present at the meeting.
