As part of World Immunization Week, the District Health Department organised an awareness programme at Shishu Niketan School in Bahlolpur village, with participation from students of seven schools.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain attended the event as the chief guest and highlighted the importance of vaccination for a healthy life. She said immunisation is one of the most effective and safe ways to protect the body from various diseases and has helped eliminate several life-threatening illnesses like polio.
Dr. Jain urged parents to ensure timely vaccination of their children as per the government schedule and encouraged students to spread awareness about immunisation.
The event featured poster-making, speech, and quiz competitions on vaccination awareness. Winners were felicitated with mementos.
Among others present were District Immunization Officer Dr. Girish Dogra, WHO SMO Dr. Vikram Gupta, Senior Medical Officer Dr. Alka Jyot Kaur, school principal Abhilasha Tiwari, and other health officials and teachers.
