The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab claimed a major boost in Majitha after several senior Congress leaders and grassroots workers switched allegiance to the ruling party today.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann formally inducted the leaders into AAP and welcomed them into the party in the presence of Majitha constituency in-charge Talbir Singh Gill.
Prominent leaders who joined AAP from Congress include Parmjeet Singh Pamma, Palwinder Singh Pali, Jagdeep Singh Goga, Apramdeep Singh Appu, and Amandeep Singh.
Development Politics Attracting People’: CM Mann
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said AAP’s governance model is focused on public welfare and development, adding that more people are moving towards “politics of progress” in Punjab. He said the induction of new leaders would further strengthen the party’s base in Majitha.
AAP Claims Stronger Hold in Majitha
Talbir Singh Gill said the Congress party’s influence in Majitha has weakened, and the latest inductions have further strengthened AAP in the region. The leaders who joined the party expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister and pledged to work actively to expand AAP’s presence.
The political shift is being seen as another sign of intensifying party realignments in Punjab ahead of upcoming electoral developments.
