Chandigarh :
Dakha MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali is set to formally join the Akali Dal (Waris Punjab De) today. marking a notable political development in Punjab as parties begin repositioning themselves ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
According to political sources, Ayali’s decision comes after his departure from Shiromani Akali Dal (Punargathit). His move is being seen as part of a broader realignment within Panthic and regional political forces in the state.
Ayali has previously been associated with platforms linked to the Waris Punjab movement and had publicly spoken about the need for Panthic unity, which had already sparked speculation about his possible shift in political affiliation. His upcoming formal induction is now being viewed as confirmation of those indications.
Party insiders suggest that Ayali’s entry could strengthen Akali Dal (Waris Punjab De) in certain constituencies, particularly in rural segments, while also adding momentum to its efforts to expand its political base.
The development is also being closely watched in the context of evolving equations within Punjab politics, where multiple Sikh and regional parties are attempting to consolidate support ahead of the crucial 2027 Assembly elections.
