Mohali:
A new chapter in the civic administration of Mohali began today with the election of Sarabjit Singh Samana as the third Mayor of Mohali Municipal Corporation. Along with him, R. P. Sharma was elected as the Senior Deputy Mayor, while Harpal Channa assumed office as the Deputy Mayor.
Recent reports had indicated strong support for Sarabjit Singh Samana’s candidature among elected councillors.
The newly elected team is expected to focus on accelerating development works, improving civic amenities, strengthening sanitation services, enhancing infrastructure, and addressing public concerns across the city. Residents and party workers welcomed the announcement, expressing optimism that the new leadership will work collectively for the overall progress and welfare of Mohali.
Speaking on the occasion, supporters said that the new leadership represents a blend of experience and commitment and is expected to take forward key development projects while ensuring transparent and efficient governance.
The election of the Mayor, Senior Deputy Mayor, and Deputy Mayor marks the formal constitution of the new civic leadership following the recently concluded Municipal Corporation elections in Mohali.
