Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh today handed over appointment letters to nine newly appointed Anganwadi workers during a function held at his office in Sector-79. Congratulating the appointees, he urged them to serve with dedication, honesty and commitment.
Addressing the media, Kulwant Singh said the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is fulfilling its promise of providing employment to the youth. He claimed that around 70,000 merit-based permanent government jobs have been provided during the present government’s tenure through a transparent recruitment process.
He informed that among the newly appointed Anganwadi workers, three are from Suhana village, while the others belong to Kumbra, Maujpur, Chilla and Barmajra.
The MLA also accused opposition parties of attempting to mislead people through baseless allegations, stating that they have no concrete issues to challenge the government’s development initiatives and welfare schemes.
Speaking about the Mother-Daughter Respect Scheme, he said the process of transferring benefits into the bank accounts of eligible women has already begun and will continue even after the registration process is completed.
Kulwant Singh further said that the government has made all necessary arrangements to tackle the ongoing rainy season and ensure public convenience.
Sharing an update on the proposed Government Medical College in Mohali, he said all land-related formalities have been completed. The boundary wall has been constructed, work on student hostels has started, and construction of the main academic building will begin soon.
Several local leaders, councillors and party workers were present during the event.
