Mohali:
Punjabi Virsa Cultural Society will organise its 28th blood donation camp on August 8 at Community Centre, Sector 69, Mohali, as part of its ongoing social welfare initiatives. The camp will be held from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm, and blood units will be collected by the PGI Blood Bank team
Society president Satvir Singh Dhanoa said a special team of around 100 dedicated blood donors has been prepared to provide immediate assistance during emergencies in Mohali and PGI. The team will reach hospitals whenever patients require urgent blood and provide support without any personal gain.
Dhanoa said the aim of the initiative is to ensure that no patient suffers due to a shortage of blood during critical situations. He appealed to healthy citizens and youngsters to come forward and participate in the noble cause.
Ashok Kumar Gupta, Director, Diplasth Group, said blood donation is a life-saving service as blood cannot be manufactured and has no substitute. He urged more people to join the campaign and contribute towards helping those in need.
The society has invited residents, social organisations and youth groups to participate in the camp and make the initiative successful.
