Under the ‘Every Friday Fight Against Dengue’ campaign, Civil Surgeon Dr Sangeeta Jain visited the District Hospital, Mohali, and reviewed the measures being taken to prevent dengue.
During the inspection, Dr Jain visited various areas of the hospital and assessed compliance with the Health Department’s instructions on dengue prevention. She also checked possible water-stagnation points around the hospital and directed officials to take necessary preventive measures.
A special inspection of the Civil Hospital canteen was also conducted, following which concerned officers and employees were instructed to make further improvements and maintain proper cleanliness.
Dr Jain said the Health Department was carrying out regular activities to control the spread of dengue. She appealed to residents not to allow water to accumulate in and around their homes and to inspect and eliminate potential breeding sites of dengue mosquito larvae every Friday.
She stressed that public participation is essential for dengue prevention and said awareness, caution and cleanliness remain the most effective measures to control the disease.
SSO Dr Taranjot Kaur, Dr Manmeet Kaur, SI Baljit Singh, Gurvinder Singh, Gurjit Singh and Bhupinder Singh, along with students of the Nursing College, were also present during the inspection.
