Mohali :
A review meeting to assess preparations for the second phase of Census-2027, involving population enumeration, was held at the District Administrative Complex, Mohali, under the chairmanship of Dr. Navjot Khosla, IAS, Director, Census Operations, Punjab.
Smt. Komal Mittal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, SAS Nagar, Sandeep Singh, PCS, Municipal Commissioner, SAS Nagar, ADCs, SDMs, charge officers and other officials associated with the census work attended the meeting.
Dr. Navjot Khosla appreciated the dedicated efforts of charge officers and field staff in successfully completing the first phase of the census. He stressed the need for effective planning, coordination and timely completion of all assigned tasks.
The Director also reviewed the progress of the House Listing Operation in the district and particularly in high-priority charges of the Municipal Corporation. He appreciated the efforts and commitment of the district administration, census officials and staff, and expressed confidence that all activities related to the second phase would also be completed successfully.
Dr. Khosla directed the Principal Census Officers and Census Officers to remain fully prepared for the population enumeration phase and ensure that all targets are achieved within the prescribed timeline.
Smt. Komal Mittal assured that the district administration would make every effort to complete all census-related activities within the stipulated time. She said that the district administration and Municipal Corporation were fully committed to carrying out the census work smoothly and effectively as per the prescribed guidelines and ensuring the collection of accurate and reliable data.
During the meeting, a detailed roadmap and action plan for the timely and smooth completion of the second phase of Census-2027 were also discussed.
