Teej Mahotsav Celebrated with Grandeur at Shri Shiv Mandir in Phase 9

BJP Leader Abha Bansal Attends as Chief Guest, Honoured by Temple Committee

Teej Mahotsav was celebrated with great enthusiasm, devotion and traditional fervour at Shri Shiv Mandir, Phase 9, Mohali. A large number of women participated in the celebrations and enjoyed traditional Teej rituals, folk songs, music, Gidda and other cultural activities.

BJP leader Abha Bansal attended the celebration as the chief guest. Extending her warm greetings to all the women on the occasion of Teej, Bansal said that traditional festivals like Teej are an important part of India’s rich cultural heritage.

She said that such celebrations help connect the younger generation with the country’s traditions and culture while also strengthening the spirit of mutual love, brotherhood and social harmony.

Bansal further said that preserving traditional festivals and folk culture is important in today’s rapidly changing times. Such programmes also provide women with an opportunity to showcase their talent and strengthen social bonds.

On the occasion, Ramesh Verma, Chairman of Shri Shiv Mandir Committee, along with former BJP councillor Prakashwati and other dignitaries, honoured Abha Bansal.

Women presented traditional Teej folk songs during the programme, while Gidda and other cultural performances added colour and vibrancy to the celebrations. Dressed in traditional attire, the women participated enthusiastically and exchanged Teej greetings with one another.

The participants appreciated the organisers for conducting the cultural programme and said that such events play an important role in preserving folk traditions and keeping the younger generation connected with their cultural roots.
