Mohali:
Shemrock Senior Secondary School, Sector 69, hosted the two-day inter-school debating competition ‘Debate Mohali Tri-City Round-2026’, witnessing enthusiastic participation from schools across the Tri-City.
The event began with the ceremonial lamp lighting and a Kathak performance by students. Principal Praneet Sohal welcomed the guests and participants. An Ice-Breaker session, speaking workshop and debate rounds were also organised to enhance students’ communication and public-speaking skills.
Air Commodore Nitin Sathe (Retd.), the Chief Guest, encouraged students to develop confidence, effective communication and the ability to express their views clearly.
In the Sher Bachche category, Shemrock School’s team ‘Debatoholics’, comprising Lavanya Kaushal, Kavisha Khandelwal and Siddhi Seth, won the championship, while ‘Taiwas 1’ secured the runner-up position.
In the Lions category, ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ from St. Anne’s Convent School emerged victorious, while ‘The Vocal Sapiens’ from Sri Aurobindo Public School, Baddi, finished runners-up.
Managing Director Karan Bajwa and the Chief Guest felicitated the winning teams and Best Speakers with trophies, medals and prizes.
