Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann met Governor Gulab Chand Kataria at Punjab Raj Bhavan in Chandigarh at around 2:30 pm today. This was the second meeting between the Chief Minister and the Governor within nearly 15 days, making the meeting significant from both political and administrative perspectives.
The meeting is likely to have included discussions on the parole issue of Jagtar Singh Hawara. Mann may have presented the state government’s position and relevant details to the Governor. However, no official information about the agenda has been released by the government or Raj Bhavan so far.
The recent farmers’ shutdown in Punjab may also have been discussed, particularly its impact on different parts of the state and the situation involving farmer organisations.Law and order, the state’s current political and administrative situation, pending government matters and other issues concerning Punjab’s interests are also likely to have figured in the meeting.
The repeated interaction between Mann and Kataria within a short period has attracted attention in political circles, although details of any decisions taken during Saturday’s meeting have not yet been officially disclosed.
