Dera Bassi MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa inaugurated and launched various development works worth Rs 3.41 crore in Lalru, aimed at improving basic infrastructure and civic facilities.
The MLA laid the foundation stone for construction of a drain from Saini Market to Mukhija Palace through a 24-inch RCC pipe, along with the Lalru-Dharamgarh road project, at a cost of Rs 2.84 crore.
Construction of a Brahmin Dharamshala in Ward No. 12 was also started at a cost of Rs 15 lakh. In addition, 17 e-rickshaws purchased for Rs 41.84 lakh were flagged off to strengthen garbage collection and sanitation services in the city.
Randhawa said the Punjab Government was committed to development and providing better facilities to residents. He added that more development projects would be undertaken in Lalru and across the Dera Bassi constituency.
Municipal Council President Zorawar Singh, Senior Vice-President Harish Madan, Vice-President Aman Rana, councillors, officials and local residents were present on the occasion.
