Health Department Conducts Dengue Checks at Nurseries

Mohali :

The District Health Department conducted a special inspection and awareness drive at nurseries and other vulnerable locations across the district under the ‘Har Shukrvar, Dengue Te Vaar’ campaign to prevent the spread of dengue.
The campaign was conducted under the leadership of Civil Surgeon Dr Sangeeta Jain, with senior health officials and field staff actively participating. Nursing college students also assisted health teams in inspection and awareness activities.
Health teams inspected nurseries for stagnant water, potential mosquito-breeding sites and water-collection points. Spraying of insecticide was also carried out at identified locations.
Nursery owners and workers were advised to regularly clean flower pots and other water containers and ensure that water does not remain stagnant.
District Epidemiologist Dr Anamika Soni appealed to residents to check their homes, shops, offices and surrounding areas every Friday and eliminat
mosquito-breeding sites before larvae can develop.
She urged people to keep their surroundings clean and said the campaign is now also being conducted every Monday.
