Ward No. 13 councillor Kuldeep Kaur Dhanoa has submitted a written request to the Mayor of the Municipal Corporation seeking the naming of the newly constructed roundabout in front of Gurdwara Sri Amb Sahib as “Amb Sahib Chowk” and the construction of two bus shelters near the gurdwara.
Dhanoa said Gurdwara Sri Amb Sahib holds significant religious and historical importance in Mohali and is visited by thousands of devotees from different areas every day. She said naming the newly constructed chowk after Amb Sahib would appropriately reflect the sentiments of the devotees.
She also requested the construction of two bus shelters in front of the gurdwara, stating that a large number of devotees travel by bus to visit the shrine. The shelters would provide protection from heat, sunlight and rain to people waiting for buses.
Dhanoa appealed to the Mayor and Municipal Commissioner to consider both demands on priority and approve them at the earliest. She said the proposals are aimed at improving facilities for devotees and preserving the religious identity of the area.
