Mohali :
Punjab BJP President Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon was warmly welcomed by Municipal Councillor Gurpreet Kaur Ubha, senior BJP leader Hardev Singh Ubha and Ward No. 41 workers during the Seva Sankalp Yatra programme held in Sector 86, Mohali.
A protest was also organised at Wave Estate Gate No. 5 over various public issues and what BJP leaders described as anti-people policies of the Punjab government. Party workers raised slogans and burnt an effigy of the state government during the protest.
Addressing the gathering, Councillor Gurpreet Kaur Ubha said residents were facing several problems related to drinking water, sewerage, cleanliness, streetlights, parks and roads. She said the BJP would continue to raise these issues before the administration and press for their early resolution.
She said civic facilities should be improved and residents should not have to repeatedly struggle to get basic public services. The BJP leaders also assured residents that their concerns would continue to be highlighted at the appropriate forums.
Several BJP leaders, party workers and local residents, including Manoj Sharma, Gulshan Sood and J.S. Rana, attended the programme.
