Abhishek Gupta, President of the Chandigarh Management Association (CMA), attended a roundtable discussion on “Leveraging AI and Emerging Technologies to Transform the Sports Ecosystem” as a special invitee.
The event was organised by CII Chandigarh UT on May 8, 2026, at CII NR HQs in Chandigarh. The session featured David Steele, Director – Sportstech at Plug and Play Tech Center, USA, who shared insights on the growing role of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies in sports.
The discussion focused on the use of AI, data analytics, wearables, and computer vision for athlete training, injury prevention, and talent identification. It also highlighted emerging tools such as augmented and virtual reality for fan engagement, along with blockchain technology for improving governance and transparency in sports systems.
Abhishek Gupta attended the event along with EC Member Abhinav Malhotra, who is associated with sports and wellness medicine. Participants discussed how technology can improve athlete performance and safety, particularly in injury prevention and care.
CMA stated that its participation in the roundtable reflects its commitment to promoting innovation and engaging with emerging global technologies in various sectors, including sports.
