Patiala (Punjab), November 9, 2024: Patiala Locomotive Works (PLW), Patiala, and Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala, has launched the “Digital Life Certificate Campaign 3.0.”
This initiative aims to streamline the annual life certificate submission process, allowing senior citizens to submit essential documents digitally.
In collaboration with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) has introduced face authentication to enhance the “Ease of Living” for over 7 million central government pensioners.
This new feature simplifies the process, enabling pensioners to submit their life certificates effortlessly from home.
Key benefits of the Digital Life Certificate include eliminating the need for pensioners to visit pension disbursement offices in person, streamlining the certificate submission process, and enhancing security by reducing the risk of fraudulent claims through Aadhaar-based biometric authentication.
To participate, pensioners or their family members need to download the upgraded “Aadhaar Face RD” (Early Access) and “Jeevan Pramaan” applications from Google Play Store.
To raise awareness and assist Railway pensioners in this process, PLW will organize camps on November 13, 14, 19, and 20, 2024, at the PLW IT Center in Patiala.
This campaign reaffirms PLW’s commitment to supporting and facilitating easy access to essential services for its retired personnel, enhancing their convenience and security through digital innovation.
