Mohali :
Mohali Police have identified the assailants in the murder of Kabaddi promoter Kunwar Digvijay Singh, alias Rana Balachauria, and launched a major manhunt to apprehend them, said SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans.
The accused, Aditya Kapur alias Makhan and Karan Pathak alias Defaulter Karan, have been linked to the Donny Bal and Lucky Patiala gangs. Investigations indicate that the motive behind the murder is control and dominance over Kabaddi tournaments, and not any connection to the Sidhu Moosewala case, SSP Hans clarified.
Twelve special police teams have been formed and deployed across locations to trace and arrest the accused. Aditya Kapur is involved in 13 FIRs across various police stations, while Karan Pathak is named in two FIRs.
The SSP confirmed that the Kabaddi tournament had all necessary permissions and the incident occurred after the match of Rana Balachauria’s sponsored team had concluded.
Punjab Police, under DGP Gaurav Yadav, reiterated its commitment to curb criminal activities and ensure swift justice in the case.
