Anti Encroachment Drive Removes Illegal Constructions from Areas

The Municipal Council (MC) Naya Gaon continued its anti-encroachment drive on the second day, focusing on the Kansal catchment area of Sukhna Lake. The operation was conducted under the supervision of MC officials, including the Executive Officer, AME, Sanitary Inspector, and General Inspector, with active participation from field staff. Adequate police deployment ensured law and order during the enforcement action, with the SHO, Naya Gaon, present on site.
Authorities removed illegal constructions and encroachments from ecologically sensitive and restricted zones, including floodplain areas crucial for maintaining natural drainage and protecting the ecological health of Sukhna Lake. Despite prior notices and opportunities for voluntary removal, several unauthorized structures continued to exist, necessitating legal action.The second-day operation was carried out systematically, peacefully, and in strict accordance with the law. Officials emphasized that illegal constructions obstruct rainwater flow, increase flood risks, and pose serious environmental hazards.
The District Administration and MC Naya Gaon have reiterated that the drive will continue, with no tolerance for unauthorized structures in the Kansal catchment area, Patiala Ki Rao, or any other regulated zones.
Violators of High Court orders will face strict legal consequences, including demolition and penalties.Residents and property owners have been urged to comply with approved building plans, land-use regulations, and court directives. The Executive Officer warned that any future attempts to construct illegal structures in restricted areas will be met with stringent legal action.
The administration reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the Sukhna Lake catchment, preserving natural water bodies and drainage systems, and ensuring strict enforcement of environmental and municipal laws in the public interest. The drive highlights the government’s focus on protecting ecologically sensitive zones while maintaining law and order in the region.
