Under the Chief Minister Health Scheme, free medical treatment is being provided in several government and empanelled private hospitals across the district through the CM Health Insurance Card, Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain said.
She informed that the Punjab government has extended health insurance coverage of up to ₹10 lakh per family, and a large number of CM Health Insurance Cards are being issued daily.
Cardholders can avail free treatment for various diseases at listed private and government hospitals. All diagnostic tests and medicines during hospitalisation are also being provided free of cost under the scheme.
Dr. Jain said the facility is available in multiple empanelled hospitals across Mohali, Kharar, Zirakpur, Dera Bassi, Kurali, Banur, Lalru and Dhakoli, along with government health institutions in these areas.
She urged residents to get their health insurance cards made at the earliest to fully benefit from the scheme and ensure cashless treatment for serious illnesses.
The Civil Surgeon added that the initiative aims to reduce the financial burden on patients and improve access to quality healthcare in the district.
