Mayor Saurabh Joshi today inaugurated the Acer EV Motorbike showroom in Sector 22, aiming to provide residents with an affordable and environment-friendly transportation alternative amid rising fuel prices.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Senior Deputy Mayor Jasman Singh, Deputy Mayor Suman, area councillor Damanpreet Singh, nominated councillor Umesh Ghai, Acer EV founder Dr. Irfan Khan and Chandigarh Group President Suresh Goyal.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Irfan Khan said the EBG Group has introduced Acer EV motorcycles and scooters in India as part of its efforts to promote sustainable mobility. He said the group is active in the wellness industry as well as several other sectors and is committed to encouraging innovation and sustainable development across the country.
He added that the centrally located showroom in Sector 22 would make electric mobility more accessible to residents of Chandigarh by offering modern electric two-wheelers equipped with advanced technology, better mileage and lower operating costs.
Suresh Goyal said the demand for electric vehicles has been rising steadily due to increasing fuel prices and growing environmental concerns. He said the new showroom would provide customers with quality EV motorcycles and scooters, reliable after-sales services and convenient support under one roof.
The organisers expressed confidence that the initiative would encourage more people to adopt eco-friendly transportation and contribute to a cleaner and greener urban environment.
