Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Komal Mittal on Thursday felicitated Jagtar Singh, Booth Level Officer (BLO) of Booth No. 108 in the Kharar Assembly constituency, for completing 100 per cent work under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 within the stipulated time.
At a function held at the District Administrative Complex, Jagtar Singh, who is also a teacher at Government Elementary School, Lubangarh, was presented with a letter of appreciation issued by the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab. The honour was conferred in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development)-cum-Deputy District Election Officer Geetika Singh and SDM-cum-Electoral Registration Officer, Kharar, Gurmeet Singh.
Congratulating Jagtar Singh, his supervisor Gurpreet Singh (Agriculture Development Officer) and SDM Gurmeet Singh, the Deputy Commissioner said that the dedicated and timely completion of SIR-2026 work contributes significantly to strengthening the democratic process. She urged all BLOs in the district to draw inspiration from his commitment and complete the revision exercise within the prescribed timeline.
District Nodal Officer (SVEEP) Prof. Gurbakshish Singh Antal said Jagtar Singh has been recognised three times in the past for enrolling the highest number of new voters. He added that Booth No. 108 had also recorded an impressive 89.5 per cent voter turnout during the Lok Sabha elections, for which Jagtar Singh was honoured by the district administration.
Election Tehsildar Harpreet Kaur and other election officials were also present on the occasion.
