Mohali :
Under the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA), pregnant women across Mohali district were provided information on safe motherhood and underwent special health check-ups at government health institutions today.
District Family Welfare Officer Dr Tamanna Singhal said various activities were organised at Community Health Centres (CHCs), Primary Health Centres (PHCs), sub-divisional hospitals and the district hospital to promote maternal health and awareness.
During the programme, special emphasis was laid on regular antenatal check-ups, necessary medical tests, health counselling and timely identification of high-risk pregnancies.
Dr Singhal said pregnant women should undergo regular health check-ups, consume a balanced and nutritious diet and follow the advice of healthcare professionals throughout pregnancy.
She stressed that timely check-ups and early identification of high-risk pregnancies are essential for safeguarding the health of both mothers and their babies.
